Cookie Policy

What cookies are

A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser. Some are needed for the site to work at all. Others are optional, and are used to understand how the site is being used.

This policy covers velaenergy.ai, our public website, and app.velaenergy.ai, the Vela platform. The two behave differently and are described separately below.

Cookies on this website

Our public website uses PostHog, a product analytics tool, to understand how visitors move through the site — which pages are read, which are ignored, and where people give up. PostHog sets cookies in your browser so it can tell a returning visitor from a new one.

These are not necessary for the site to work. We do not set them unless you accept them. If you have not made a choice, or you chose to reject them, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected about your visit.

PostHog is served through our own domain rather than loaded from a third-party host, so these are first-party cookies. Analytics data is processed by PostHog on our behalf under a data processing agreement.

Cookies in the Vela platform

The Vela platform at app.velaenergy.ai sets only the cookies required to keep you signed in and to keep your session secure. These are strictly necessary: without them you could not log in, and the platform would not work.

The platform does not use analytics cookies, advertising cookies, or any third-party tracking. Because these cookies are strictly necessary, they do not require consent — but they are listed here so the position is on the record rather than assumed.

Changing your mind

You can change your choice at any time using the control below. Withdrawing consent is as straightforward as giving it, and takes effect immediately.

You can also clear cookies through your browser settings. Clearing them removes your stored choice, so you will be asked again on your next visit.

Changes to this policy

If we add or remove a cookie, or change what one is used for, we will update this page. Where the change means we would be doing something you have not agreed to, we will ask again rather than assume your previous answer still applies.
